Amirican Airlines and The Fort Worth Club

Trustees of the Davey O’Brien Foundation named American Airlines and The Fort Worth Club recipients of the 2006 Charles Ringler Founder’s Award, given annually in recognition of outstanding service and support of the organization. Ringler established the Davey O’Brien Foundation 30 years ago, and the award that bares his name honors an individual or corporation that has exhibited the same passion, pride and perseverance for the foundation’s mission as Ringler himself.

“American Airlines and The Fort Worth Club have each served for many years as steadfast partners of the Davey O’Brien Foundation,” said Bobby McGee, president of the Davey O’Brien Foundation. “Their unwavering support has enabled us to grow well beyond what Charles could have envisioned 30 years ago.”

American Airlines, the world’s largest airline, is the official and exclusive airline of the Foundation’s National Quarterback Award. The company has served the Davey O’Brien Foundation for more than 15 years in a variety of ways and the foundation greatly appreciates their support.

Likewise, The Fort Worth Club, the city’s most prestigious private club since 1885, has been a valued partner of the Davey O’Brien Foundation since it was established 30 years ago. The club’s contributions have varied over the years, initially handling many of the foundation’s administrative responsibilities as well as providing an area for the foundation’s Hall of Fame.

“We are proud to honor these two outstanding entities with the 2006 Founder’s Award,” said Scott Murray, chair of the Legends and Founder’s Awards Committees. “Largely due to their ongoing support, we are able to fulfill our mission of recognizing the best in sportsmanship and scholarship in high school and college football.”

This year, the Davey O’Brien Foundation thanks American Airlines and The Fort Worth Club for their gracious support and devotion.
